Built in 1929 as the Smith-Young Tower, this was the tallest office building in San Antonio until completion of the Marriott Rivercenter in 1988. Designed with Neo-Gothic ornaments and glazed terra-cotta surfaces by the architects Ayres & Ayres, this 35-story tower is the most intriguing of landmark of the city skyline.
